What is the Parenting Children Course?

The Parenting Children Course gives parents and caregivers practical tools to strengthen family relationships and raise children with confidence. The course comprises five sessions that combine teaching, video clips, and time for reflection.

Who created the course?

Nicky and Sila Lee, authors of The Parenting Book, first developed the course in 1990 at Holy Trinity Brompton (HTB) in London. Since then, churches and organisations worldwide have used it to support thousands of families.

What you’ll learn

Over five sessions, the course helps you to:

  • Build strong foundations for family life
  • Meet your children’s needs at different stages
  • Set clear and consistent boundaries
  • Teach children how to build healthy relationships
  • Think about your long-term goals as a parent

Each session blends practical advice with real-life examples, allowing parents to apply the ideas immediately at home.

Parenting Course: Why join?

Parenting can be both rewarding and challenging. However, you don’t need to figure it all out on your own. This course creates space to think intentionally about your family, hear from others, and discover new strategies that really work.

Get started

Whether you are parenting toddlers, primary-aged children, or pre-teens, the Parenting Children Course offers insights that help you nurture your child’s wellbeing and strengthen your family bond.

We regularly run the Parenting Children Course at Cornerstone Church in Bristol, and we would be delighted to welcome you.
