Students: Welcome to Bristol!

Moving to a new city for university as students can be both exciting and overwhelming. Whether you are studying at the University of Bristol (UoB), UWE Bristol, or another college in the city, we want to give you a warm welcome to Cornerstone Church Bristol.

A church family for students

Many members of Cornerstone were once students here in Bristol. Some studied at UoB or UWE and have since stayed on for work. They know the ups and downs of student life—from freshers’ week to dissertations—and are always happy to listen, share their experiences, and encourage you.

Sundays together

After most Sunday services, the student group meets upstairs for:

A free hot lunch (yes, free food!)
Space to share faith and experiences with other students
Time to build friendships that often last beyond university

This usually runs until around 2 pm, giving you a chance to pause from the busyness of lectures, assignments, and student life.

Get involved in student life + church life

We know that university isn’t just about study—it’s also about community, friendships, and growing as a person. At Cornerstone, you’ll find opportunities to:

Join teams like hospitality, worship, or children’s groups
Take part in outreach projects across Bristol
Connect with a homegroup midweek for Bible study, prayer, and encouragement
Meet other students from both UoB and UWE in a supportive, faith-filled environment

These are brilliant ways to feel part of something bigger while you’re away from home.

Exploring faith at university

For some, university years raise big questions about life and belief. We provide space to explore Christianity in a relaxed, open way—whether that’s through student lunches, our Alpha course, or simply chatting over coffee.
